Episode 17: "Grit and Perseverance" with Trevor Burnett
Season 2 kicks off with one of my favorite all-time people, Trevor Burnett. Trevor is a senior at Glenbard South High School who will be attending the University of Illinois next year to study Organizational and Community Leadership and play football. Listen in how is struggles helped him rise above and help him develop into the athlete and young man he is today.
Season 2 Intro
Episode 16: "Footballs and Meatballs" with HC Tom Lombardo (St. Edward HS Ohio) and OC Rob Aurilio (Glenbard South HS and previously Montini Catholic)
Well... If you love football and meatballs this is the episode for you. Tom Lombardo, who brings with him a storied coaching career, and Robert Aurilio, one of the best offensive minds around, discussed everything from RPOs, Zone Read, various passing concepts, and our Italian roots. Coach Lombardo and Coach Aurilio did a great job sharing their thoughts on the evolution of offensive football. Both coaches have next level minds when it comes to the game we love, and that has lead to multiple state championship seasons.
Episode 15: "A tree must rest to bear fruit..." with Britt Hanson (School Social Worker and Interventionist)
Britt Hanson is a school social worker at Glenbard South High School. Britt is a colleague and friend that works very closely with a wide array of students in various capacities as a social worker and interventionist. Most notably, Britt is a huge advocate on addressing and improving all students' mental health and mental health awareness. We address what mental health is and how to manage it. She provides some great thoughts on ways to access support in the school community. Mental health and mental health awareness should always be at the forefront. ***Disclaimer: The thoughts and opinions share on this podcast may not reflect that of my employer. Episode 14: "Perspective and Perseverance" with Marco Eufrasio
Marco Eufrasio is a lot of things: Special educator, head baseball coach, assistant football coach, husband, father of twins, and a cancer survivor. Marco shares his story about overcoming and beating cancer. He is definitely taking this negative and turning it into a positive by starting a non-for-profit that focuses in men's mental, emotional, and physical health call Lace 'Em Up. Marco shares some great info on baseball at the high school level from the stance of a public high school coach compared to private club teams. Some very valuable life lessons in this episode. Enjoy the listen!
