The Shero Podcast
Ingrid Centurion interview Becky Thompson, founder of the Restoration Act. In August 2014, Becky Thompson was recovering from life-saving neck surgeries when she heard the devastating news of thousands of people fleeing ISIS to Mount Sinjar (Shingal). Deeply moved, she began praying for the families facing unimaginable loss and displacement. In late May 2016, Becky traveled to Kurdistan, Iraq, spending a month on the ground providing humanitarian aid and meeting the very people she had been praying for. Welcomed by multiple families living in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, her experience marked a turning point. In 2018, Becky founded The Restoration Act, (TRA) a nonprofit dedicated to providing hope, love, and restoration to communities impacted by conflict. Through humanitarian aid and educational programs, the organization continues to support and uplift people throughout the region. The TRA team—made up of people from around the world—shares a commitment to loving others and bringing hope, dignity, and restoration where it’s needed most.
