She is the Founder and Executive Director of Youth Transforming Narratives (YTN), a youth-led organisation committed to decolonisation, narrative transformation, and empowering young leaders to shape more just and inclusive societies. Recognised internationally for her impact, Balkis was named among the Global 200 Women Power Leaders 2024, representing Tunisia on the global stage. She is also a former Global Fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), where she deepened her work at the intersection of peace, security, and global governance. With over seven years of experience, Balkis has worked with 25+ international organisations, including UNESCO, USAID, Peace Direct, and multiple UN entities, contributing as a trainer, programme designer, youth engagement specialist, and regional leader. She has launched fellowships, directed youth-led initiatives, and currently leads human rights training at the AMEL Institute, overseeing a network of nearly 1,000 alumni. A four-time full scholarship recipient, Balkis holds an Advanced Master’s in Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law from the Geneva Academy and a Master’s in International Affairs from the Lebanese American University.
