The Soulful Catalyst Podcast
What if the reason nothing in your wardrobe feels right has nothing to do with your clothes? In this episode of The Soulful Catalyst, I'm joined by Ellie Steinbrink, Expert Stylist, Personal Brand Coach, Speaker, and Podcast Host of The Visibility Shift. Through her business Style Decoded, Ellie works at the intersection of psychology and personal branding, helping women entrepreneurs stop performing and start showing up as themselves, fully and boldly. What struck me about Ellie's work is that she spends almost no time, at least not early on, talking about clothes. Her clients are female founders, business leaders, and entrepreneurs who walk into their closets feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or just quietly stuck. And Ellie's first move isn't to go shopping. It's to ask what beliefs are still running the show. She describes a moment she kept seeing with clients: the clothes would go on, and their faces would show equal parts elation and terror. Elated because the vision they'd shared with her had just come to life. Terrified because now they actually had to walk out into the world wearing it. That gap, between who they're becoming and who they still feel they need to be, is where Ellie does her deepest work. She talks about the women who find her, often in midlife, often mid-transition, who've spent decades dressing for the room rather than for themselves. The corporate neutrals. The blazer-before-camera instinct. The suits they can't quite let go of, even though the job, and the person who wore them, is long gone. Before any shopping happens, Ellie goes into the beliefs underneath the wardrobe. Vision work. Mindset work. The quiet undoing of decades of conditioning about what credibility is supposed to look like. In this episode, we explore: ➤ Why changing your clothes without doing the inner work first won't hold, and what happens when a client puts on the vision they described but isn't quite ready to own it ➤ The beliefs that keep women dressed for who they used to be, and why the corporate neutrals, the black suits, the always-a-blazer habit, are often more about belonging than personal style ➤ How Ellie's month-long process works before anyone sets foot in a store, from vision work and mindset work to understanding body proportions in a way that actually builds confidence This episode is for any woman who's ever looked at her wardrobe and felt nothing in there was quite her — or who suspects the clothes are just the surface of something much bigger.
