The Southern Selections Podcast
The crew might be missing in action this episode, but it’s still all love—just me and Daniel (Nate Presslee) holding it down and keeping the conversation rolling. We start off with a review of new music we’ve been tapped into, talking about what’s actually hitting, what surprised us, and what didn’t quite land. That naturally turns into a convo about artists who’ve fallen off, and whether it’s about timing, consistency, or just the game changing around them. From there, we get into what great artistry really means to us—shouting out artists who’ve impacted the culture, showing love to a few underrated names, and comparing what matters more: talent, growth, or staying power. We switch it up and have some fun with it too—getting into our favorite action heroes, then sliding into gaming with our favorite consoles, the first games that stuck with us, and the type of players we admire and revere. Even with a lighter crew, the energy stays easygoing, honest, and entertaining—plenty of laughs, a little debate, and a lot of “nah I can’t agree with that” moments.
