Chabacano Caviteño with Stacy
In this episode Levi is learning Chabacano Caviteño: an endangered language in the Philippines. Estimated less than 4,000 speakers. Why is Levi learning Caviteño? Levi is pursuing a global language project. Much of the criticism prior movements have faced is the potential to shrink other languages and cultures. It's is not our goal or mission to "save" these languages; however, we value a foundation of listening and learning while we pursue our goal. Note: The vocabulary of Chabacano Caviteño is strongly rooted in Spanish. Levi speaks Spanish at an intermediate level and speaks spanish to Stacy as often as possible when conversing.
