Descripción

For the thirteenth episode, I provide an introduction to what will be a central theme of this podcast: Populism. First I define what exactly it is and why it matters: populism is the broad idea that politics should not adhere to a set in stone ideology or offer the people strict choices in elections after which, their concerns are irrelevant. Where has it gone wrong in the past and why? What can it do for us today and what are the forms it takes on the left and right of the political spectrum today? As we go through, many other tangents and thoughts are explored. Please share this podcast with at least three friends for every episode you listen to ! (Or let me know why you would not recommend it, so that I can improve.) Be sure to follow me on Instagram @emxril and Twitter @emxril and the show's Twitter account @stateofuspod. episode 0010 -KIM JONG UN HAS THE LAST LAUGH W/ LUCAS ROSENFIELD- artwork

0010 -KIM JONG UN HAS THE LAST LAUGH W/ LUCAS ROSENFIELD-

For our second guest episode ever, Lucas Rosenfield joins me to discuss the horrific shooting of Ahmud Abery, institutional racism, and the societal ills that contribute. Then we move swiftly and decisively to denounce the hypocrisy of everyone from garden-variety Instagram feminists to the biggest power brokers in the media, celebrity and financial worlds for the willful ignorance of Tara Reed's sexual assault claim against Joe Biden and the consequential failing of the #Metoo movement. Then you'll hear us discuss the morality of foreign intervention and regime change efforts in Venezuela and other countries by the many US administrations undoubtably including the current one.  As the daylight of the episode fades we find ourselves wondering, how did Kim Jong Un manage to get the entire Western World, including many well-respected media and political figures, to believe he had simply keeled over and died for a whopping twenty days?!
