In this session, our panellists examine how technology can be an intrinsic part of making music, focusing on the types of technology available to them and how it can be used to enhance their creative process. Tony Churnside

Tony Churnside is a radio and audio expert, digital innovator and deliverer of successful, high impact digital firsts. He creates new audience experiences by leveraging technology in novel ways. Tony is internationally recognised as an expert in object based television and radio programme creation, and specialises in producing unique and inventive audience experiences. He is an expert in production workflows that deliver both traditional linear media and flexible, responsive, interactive new media experiences that work across different connected devices and in different environments. Tony was awarded his PhD in personalised and interactive radio in 2015. Tony has been a member of various technical EBU groups, a committee member of the UK Radio Academy Radio Festival and The International Broadcasting Convention. He is an author of over 10 international publications and has presented at over 30 international conferences. Tony is a spokesperson for audio and radio advancements, having written articles for publications such as Broadcast, Television and iTech and has appeared in various media, including BBC News, Sky News, ITN, NPR, BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service talking about the present and future of media.

Timothy Boggs

Timothy Boggs is an award winning filmmaker, Artist and songwriter who lives and works in Los Angeles. His 30 year career as a sound supervisor and sound editor include notable television shows - “The Sopranos,” “Breaking Bad,” “The Good Wife,” “Queen Sugar,” “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys,” “Xena: Warrior Princess,” “Legion,” and “Fargo.”  Tim’s Film credits include David Lynch’s “Lost Highway,” Wim Wenders’ “The End of Violence,” Nicolas Roeg’s “Full Body Massage,” Gurindha Chadha’s “Bend it Like Beckham,” and Rob Reiner’s comedy “The Bucket List.”  Tim’s directorial debut, the 1986 low budget Shot-on-Video cult-classic horror movie “Blood Lake,” recently had a World Premier celebrating the movie’s long awaited DVD release at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas.  Tim is also an accomplished Artist and Photographer. His works are owned by several Oscar winners and three art pieces purchased by the comedian/actor Jim Carrey. Tim learned to meditate when he was 16 years old and has practiced the peaceful art of introspection for nearly 50 years. Tim began formally teaching what he calls “Cleansing Yoga Meditation” over Zoom for the past year and a half. CY Meditation is a simple technique that shows the student how to become aware of the inner flow of energy that is inside each of us, how to take control of that Life-Force energy - or Chi - and then use it to cleanse their inner energetic system and help them become more peaceful and better able to sit in quiet meditation. Eric Liljestrand

Eric Liljestrand is a guitarist, producer and engineer based in Los Angeles.
