Aaron Angello's The Fact of Memory: A Daily Practice Prompt
We've changed our name! Now known as the Studio Friend Podcast, each episode will take us into a writer or artist's studio, where we will hear a little bit about craft and process and then offer a prompt inspired by their work. Mostly writing, mostly new books, but some surprises along the way, too. Today we feature Aaron Angello, author of The Fact of Memory, just out from Rose Metal Press, one of our Studio Friend BFFs. Aaron tells us about his daily practice of meditating on a single word from Shakespeare's Sonnet 29. We'll hear four selections from the book and then get inspired to start a daily practice of our own.
Bronwen Tate's The Silk The Moths Ignore: A Poetry Prompt
Bronwen Tate reads from her new book of poems, The Silk The Moths Ignore, in which she interweaves counter-narratives of loss and parenthood with words found in Proust. She discusses her process, and our host, Amy Susanne Robinson, offers a prompt based on the poems.
Dan Brady's Cabin Fever: A Subtexts Prompt
Dan Brady talks about his new book from Publishing Genius, Subtexts, in which he writes multiple erasures of a single block of original text. He reads "Cabin Fever" from the book, and our host, Amy Susanne Robinson, offers a prompt based on the poem.
