The U.S. Government is the leading source of cancer research funding, and its policies play a significant role in how doctors screen for and treat colon cancer. March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, and on this edition of The Surg, Jay Popp, MD, AMSURG Medical Director, and Brenda Thompson Green, Manager of Pilot Growth for AMSURG and a colon cancer survivor, are joined by Patrick Velliky, Executive VP of Government Affairs for Envision, to discuss current advocacy efforts and how AMSURG and its partners are working to give colon cancer patients, families and advocates a voice at the state and federal levels.
