The Unapologetic Thick-Thighed Traveler: Travel, Wellness, Body Positivity & Real Life
Disney World is magical, but let’s be honest, it’s also physically demanding. In this episode of the Unapologetic Thick Thighed Traveler, we’re talking about the real amount of walking involved at Walt Disney World and why it can feel especially challenging for plus-sized travelers and anyone living a mostly sedentary life. This is not about weight loss, fitness shame, or changing your body before a trip. It’s about preparation, comfort, and protecting your joy. Check List: - Start walking before travel - Break in park shoes and test socks - Plan your clothing, bike shorts under skirts or dresses, moisture-wicking fabrics, breathable clothing - Bring supplies! Anti-chafing cream, blister patches, pain relievers, foot soak - Stay hydrated. Bring electrolyte packets, cooling towels, sunscreen, bug spray, handheld fans, hats. - In the parks, you take breaks before the pain starts, sit when possible, take planned breaks, do stretching exercises, go back to the resort midday to regroup Remember, comfort is not weakness. Don’t be ashamed to get a scooter if you need it. Most importantly, enjoy the Magic ✨
