The city of Austin has already taken down multiple murals to come into compliance with a new order from governor Greg Abbott that prohibits political street art, and now the rainbow crosswalks at places like Fourth and Colorado are next in line to be painted over, the city of Austin has opened the application window for millions of dollars in grant funding for local artists and musicians as $23-million-dollars has been made available, and the funding comes from the city's hotel occupancy tax revenue, an Austin neighborhood is testing out a new gunshot detection system, and Texas parks and wildlife says the new backcountry area at enchanted rock is now open for day use. it's an additional three thousand acres of the iconic state park...which is reached by a two mile hike from the main headquarters.
