Descripción

In this episode, I have Mr. Opeyemi Owolabi discuss issues bordering on human rights: understanding the concept of human rights on the international and national fronts; does the idea of human right invoke the notion of personal/individual responsibility, what institutions have the law put in place to ensure that citizen's rights are protected and how well are these institutions faring, and finally, my guest highlighted ways in which the independence of the judiciary can better ensure the protection of the human right. And lots more. Enjoy!

In professional terms, this is called Science communication.  In this first episode of the show, Manuel and I explored the field of science communication and its impact on the public health sector in Nigeria.  With Covid-19 as a point of reference, we juxtaposed Nigeria's responsive handling of the pandemic against other fatal outbreaks that seem to have attained the status of perpetual existence due to the failure of the government and the people to take responsibility. Finally, we discussed the way forward.
