I acknowledge that the land on which I am is the traditional unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq. I respect the history, spirituality, and culture of the Mi’kmaq people who have lived here for over 15,000 years and that of other indigenous people who have migrated here from all across the turtle island. Welcome to the Afroman exclusive podcast My name is rechi I appreciate all that are listening or come across this episode. I accept me today! Agenda for this episode! 1. breathe work (i invite you to join me if you can and have the capacity to do so) 2. validation of emotions( Susan. A David. how we do not avoid our feelings and accept them.) 3. zen master of archery (who we are becoming) 4. call to action: what is the least we can do I introduce a scenario from the boy, the mole, the fox, and the horse. A book by Charlie Mackesy All four characters represent different parts of the same person, “he explained,” the inquisitive boy, the mole who’s enthusiastic but a bit greedy, the fox who’s been hurt so is withdrawn from life, slow to trust but wants to be part of things, and the horse who’s the wisest bit, the deepest part of you, the soul. episode Worthiness Requires no Pre-requisite artwork

Worthiness Requires no Pre-requisite

Welcome to worthiness requires no pre-requisite.  An indigo installation made by people of the BIPOC community and the PEI Crafts Council.  This recorded archive explores the meaning of antiracism/oppression in our community.  A transformative project that fostered an inclusive space for BIPOC community members to share antiracist perspectives.  "Worthiness Requires No Prerequisite" means that every individual is worthy and deserving of respect, dignity, and fair treatment, regardless of their background, identity, or experiences. It emphasizes that worthiness is inherent and not based on any external factors such as social status, education, or achievements. The phrase promotes the idea that every person has value and should be treated with equality and compassion, without the need to meet any preconditions or requirements. A collection of questions were asked of some of the participants, and they gave their answers wholeheartedly. Some of The Questions: * Who are you? * What does the word worthy mean to you? * what does it mean to be anti-oppressive * what message or advice would you like to share with fellow community members to encourage them to take proactive steps toward being anti-racist/oppressive  We are grateful to have had space to come together to create and be in community.

Consistency, Kindness, and Family With Ibra Sanoh

I acknowledge that the land on which we are is the traditional unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq. I respect the history, spirituality, and culture of the Mi’kmaq people who have lived here for over 15,000 years and that of other indigenous people who have migrated here from all across the turtle island. I would love to introduce my first guest on the podcast, Ibra Sanoh.  Ibra is a professional soccer(football) player currently in Canada. After his spell with the Halifax wanderers, he is a free agent without a club. A dope individual and a former teammate of mine in my college days. We do a quick breathe work activity  Inhale for 4  Hold for 4  Exhale for 4  In this episode, I ask Ibra some questions, and we get to discuss our life and some obstacles.  some questions we explored in this episode are: - Why do you do what you do? and what does it mean to you? (high performance) - what are three things you do to feed your soul? - what is one thing that you would never change that has happened in your life that has made you who you are? - what does it mean to be kind to you? - what three pieces of advice would you give to your younger self if you had the opportunity to do so? - what is one piece of advice you would love to leave for aspiring professional athletes? Whoever wants to take it and has the capacity to do so. Quote of the day: If you have to choose between being kind or right, choose to be kind, and you will always be right. To end the episode, I read a poem to ibra  Do not love half lovers, do not entertain half friends.  -Gibran Khalil Gibran A poem I felt inclined to share with him for his journey.
