A respected physician, gifted speaker, and passionate patriot, Warren used his talents to defend colonial rights during a time of growing tension with Great Britain. He helped organize resistance to the British government, drafted the influential Suffolk Resolves, and played a key role in warning colonial militias of British troop movements before the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Though he was appointed a major general, Warren chose to fight alongside ordinary soldiers and was killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775.
