This Poem's For You
How much can change in three years? A throwback to the very first year of Pride Poets, our guest Jazz has a poem that captured his need for love and acceptance at the time; a poem that ushered in a new era of growth and change. Looking back, the crush who ignored him at Dyke Day is just a speck in his rearview mirror. Since 2019, Pride Poets has brought LGBTQ+ poets to write poems on typewriters for members of the public during Pride in West Hollywood and around the country, creating over 1,000 original poems based on living LGBTQ+ histories that participants shared with us.
