Trust God More Than the Trade

Today I want to spend some time in Book of Proverbs chapter 3, and I truly believe this chapter carries a message every trader needs to hear. In trading, one of the hardest battles we face has nothing to do with charts, indicators, or strategy. The hardest battle is surrendering control. As traders, we naturally want certainty. We want to know where price is going, when to enter, when to exit, and how to avoid loss altogether. But God reminds us that life was never meant to be lived leaning entirely on our own understanding.

Today I want to spend some time in Book of Proverbs chapter 2, and I think this chapter hits especially hard for anyone walking the journey of trading, entrepreneurship, or building anything that requires patience and discipline. The chapter opens by telling us that if we seek wisdom like silver and search for it like hidden treasure, then we will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. Think about that for a second. Most traders spend countless hours chasing profits, hunting entries, backtesting strategies, and looking for the next edge in the market. But God is asking a deeper question: Are you pursuing heavenly wisdom with the same intensity that you pursue money?

Start the Week With Wisdom

Good morning and welcome back to Trading With Jesus. It’s Monday, a brand new week, and before we jump into charts, setups, profits, losses, or the emotions that come with trading, I want us to anchor ourselves in Book of Proverbs Chapter 1. Right out of the gate, God gives us a powerful reminder: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” That means real success — not just in trading, but in life — starts with putting God first. So many traders spend years chasing strategy after strategy, indicator after indicator, looking for the secret sauce, but neglect the one thing that matters most: wisdom. And wisdom doesn’t begin with more screen time… it begins with surrendering to God.

Built Slow, Built Right

Today we’re anchored in the Book of Proverbs 13:11, where the scripture says, Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it. That verse speaks directly to how we approach growth, especially in trading, because naturally we want things fast. Fast wins, fast payouts, fast progress. But the scripture gives a warning… what comes quickly without foundation usually doesn’t last.
