Stay hydrated. Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water daily.  2. Get sufficient sleep. Men: 6-8 hours. Women: 8-10 hours.  3. Manage your stress! Do whatever is necessary to either reduce stress or intentionally do things to counter the effects of stress in your body. Pray, go for a walk or bike ride, go to the gym, sing, play a sport, exercise, play a musical instrument, go to the beach, go to a park, walk in the woods, sit by a body of water or waterfalls, eat dark chocolate, spend time with a friend, go to a coffee shop, get counseling. If stress is a big factor in your life, ask Andrew or Naomi to recommend an adaptogen herb to support your body.  4. Eat sufficient daily amounts of healthy proteins and fats. Good sources are avocadoes, grass- fed beef, salmon, nuts, seeds, coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, and chicken. Eat organic or grass-fed as much as possible. Here is the link to a protein calculator to help you see how many grams you should be eating daily: https://www.thewellnessway.com/guides/protein/ 5. Start swapping out high carbohydrate foods for higher protein, higher fat foods. Especially replace sugar with healthier alternatives such as stevia, xylitol, monk fruit, and erythritol.  6. Get a chiropractic adjustment at least once a month. Your brain and nervous system controls every function in the body, and regular adjustments help ensure that brain signals are getting to the organs and glands of the body. Much like power needs to get from the electric breaker box to every appliance in the house to ensure good function. 7. Grow or buy organic sprouts to eat in your salads. Especially broccoli sprouts. Sprouts contain 10 - 100x more concentrated nutrients than regular greens and vegetables. 8. Get a blender for your kitchen. You can make great smoothies with nut milks, berries, coconut oil, cacao nibs or powder, bone broth protein powder, ice, and stevia. 9. Get a vegetable juicer for your kitchen. Drink 8-16 oz daily of raw vegetable juices, such as carrot, celery, cucumber, and beet. This is a fantastic source of nutrition for your body!  10. Get a gym membership or some exercise equipment. Make a commitment to exercise an hour a day at least 3-4 days a week.  11. Stop using fluoride toothpaste and store-bought mouth wash like Listerine. Use non-fluoride toothpaste and herbal mouthwashes instead. These can be found at health food stores or Amazon. Fluoride toothpaste and Listerine will shut down thyroid function, as well as nitric oxide production in the body. This eventually results in high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular issues, sexual dysfunction, and many other inflammatory health conditions. 12. If you need extra support in any of the diet, exercise, and lifestyle ideas above, ask our front desk about scheduling a Food Education appointment with our health coach Naomi Troyer.
