E P 10: Dealing With Year End Anxiety!

The last few months signalling the end of the year can be overwhelming with some people experiencing what is also known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).  It’s no doubt that twelve months can be a roller coaster and having to pass through the numerous challenges you are faced with from work to family to other aspects of your general life all year round, can have you stressed and exhausted over time without you even realizing. There are several reasons why you might experience year-end anxiety or seasonal affective disorder (SAD). It’s very usual to feel sad and anxious about the end of something, think how it felt when you left high school, the University, started a new job or made a career change. As with beginnings, endings can come with a lot of anxiety. In between trying to track your goals for the year, hit set deadlines, wrap up your plans and get yourself ready and prepared for the new year, there’s a lot of emotions that follow these closing events. But it’s important to note that all the emotions you might feel from anxiety to depression, frustration or anger can be caused by persistently judging yourself, feeling like you are undeserving, imperfect or not good enough. Or perhaps you set certain goals to hit before the end of the year that you are yet to meet or you’ve been unable to break out of a habit you desperately wanted to OR that you’ve worked so hard yet achieved only very little. Another cause of year-end anxiety might be the high expectations from family and friends. The festivities come with a lot of overwhelming activities that can have you tired, exhausted, stressed and mentally drained.

E.P 8: Maintaining A Good Posture With God

Welcome back to the 8th episode of Two Is Better Than One with Khanya and Thando . On this episode Khanya and Thando explain the importance of Posture. Practicing good posture can make a big difference in our health, well-being, mood and appearance. A good posture does not mean that we stand at attention with an upright and tight body. In fact, anyone who holds this position without the right posture will faint due to low blood circulation. Having good posture means standing in a way that the muscles are being held in a natural and neutral position. The right spiritual posture improves our spiritual health. When we properly align to Christ, God’s umbrella of protection will protect us from unnecessary hurt, harm and danger. For a believer, the natural position is one where we submit and align to God to live uprightly. As we align to God, our spiritual health improves because we learn to: Walk in His will (Psalm 1:1 84:11, John 14:6, 1 John 1:5-7) Delight in doing His will (Psalm 1:2, Psalm 37:4, John 14:21-23)Meditate on his word so the eyes of our soul will be focused on God way so Our spiritual posture whether we are standing, walking or sitting must include a heart that bows down to God’s will. The right posture empowers our prayer, magnifies our praise, validates our purpose and lights our paths. When our spiritual posture aligns with God everything else will fall in place
