David Rasnick argues that HIV is a harmless passenger virus that does not cause AIDS. He says the entire HIV/AIDS paradigm is fundamentally wrong. AIDS does not behave like a contagious disease; its pattern does not match what you would expect from a single infectious agent as it spreads through a population. Instead, he points to the real causes of immune collapse to be recreational drugs, malnutrition, poverty, and poor living conditions—and, most controversially, the antiretroviral drugs themselves.
