In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses the life and living legend of Elvis Presley, the King of Rock N' Roll. This is Part 2--go back and listen to Part 1. Elvis Presley Life and Legend (Part 1)

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses the life and living legend of Elvis Presley, the King of Rock N' Roll. This is Part 1 of a 2 Part episode. In 1935, Elvis Presley is born in Tupelo, Mississippi, to Vernon and Gladys Presley. He is extremely close to his parents and will remain so his entire life. The family along with Elvis grandmother, Minnie Mae Hood Presley, move to Memphis in 1948 or so for work opportunities for Vernon. Elvis growing up and in Memphis shows a propensity and love for music and in 1954 after graduating high school he gets signed on with a local music label called Sun Records. Immediately his recordings at Sun make him a local celebrity. He has combined his love of Country, Gospel, Rhythem and Blues music into a new sound that will rock the nation. This episode will focus on Elvis life, and meteoric rise to fame from 1935 until his death on August 16, 1977. Part 2 will focus on his death, autopsy, and all the wild happenings surrounding the aftermath and the fact that people could not believe the King died. Stay tuned!!! Slenderman Case of Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses the State of Wisconsin Vs. Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier for the attempt in the first degree with use of deadly weapon charge of crime against Payton Isabella Leutner--this case would make National and International news when the suspects story of how a fictional character named Slenderman was to blame for their attempted murder of their friend. On Saturday May 31st of 2014, three 12 year old girls were celebrating the birthday of one with a slumber party sleepover the night before. Around 8 am the three headed out to a park about .5 mile from the birthday girls home. Two of the girls would brutally attached 1 of the girls and leave her in the woods in the park with 19 stab wounds. Blessedly she was alive enough to pull herself out of the woods to cry for a bicyclist to help her. "The Omen" starring the talented and according to Amber 'yummy' Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, Harvey Stephans, and David Warner--came out to mixed reviews but ended up being the highest grossing box office hit in 1976 with $60 Million to it's cost of only $3.99 M. Heaven's Gate The Back Story (Part 2)

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa will finish discussing the group Heaven's Gate, picking up where I left off in Part 1 in the year 1986, Listener Discretion-Mental Illness/Unaliving --- On Wednesday, March 26, 1997, the San Diego County Sheriff's office received a 911 telling them that there was a mass unaliving at the location of 18241 Colina Norte in Rancho Sante Fe. The deputies really thought that this must be a crank phone call. When the deputies go to the house what they find there is anything but funny. They find 39 bodies at this location--they will received 1500 calls from around the country from concerned family and friends of these individuals. Hearts will be broken and the leader (Herff) will be on the cover of Time Magazine--but not for any good reason.
