On today's episode, Regan Yee, Track and Field athlete specializing in the 3000m Steeplechase, explains how she reached the world's top level in long distance running. By simply "forgetting" how much training can hurt, and also forgetting about bad results and failures, Regan is able to only focus on the bright side of things, to keep her motivation at the top. Fortunate to be back by Under Armour, Regan is able to solely focus on running, and is aiming the next big international event to break the 9:20 mark on the 3000m. Today, we hear the story of Jessica O'Connell, 5,000m Track and Field athlete. As she was enjoying Irish dancing as a kid, Jess saw an opportunity in running tracks, to get fitter for dancing; she (and others) saw that she had a natural talent for it. And so, after some time, she went all in on it, and made it to top of world races, including a participation in the 2016 Olympics in Rio. And this journey starte with a 1km race in elementary school.. Today, hear the story of Anicka Newell, member of team Canada in Pole Vault. A great gymnast when she was young, Anicka suffered a pretty bad back injury, which forced her away from the sport. Then, in high school, Anicka was thrown on a pole vault runway, and learnt how to use a pole bwith a soccer coach.. This was obviously not love at first sight with this discipline, but the adrenaline of the jump made Anicka feel like she was flying; and since then, she hasn't looked back, climbing the world rankings, to end up making it to 3 consecutive Olympics. Today, Anicka reflects on what she still has in her to keep pushing forward, and also remembers about the ealy days with sparks in her eyes
