United States of Traumerica
EPISODE 2: What is trauma and who becomes "traumatized?" We take a look at the midterm elections and Donald Trump choosing to run for re-election, and what this means for rising authoritarianism. This podcast then discusses exactly what trauma is; statistics on who is more likely to get traumatized, and what determines if you're traumatized vs. having an experience that was traumatic. --------------------------------------------------------- Lacey Wilson has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri since 2014, and is currently working toward her Doctorate of Psychology. In this podcast, she discusses how Americans, and the world as a whole, are living through mass trauma in the present day. Lacey has also spent the last five years studying authoritarian governments, and is doing her Doctoral dissertation on the intersection of childhood trauma and susceptibility to following an authoritarian leader. Lacey created this podcast to discuss all these things in greater detail, and discuss how we can overcome these hardships.
