Staying Busy, Staying Focused: Saul’s Story

In this episode, we sit down with Saul, an LTORR Veteran who joined VTC in December 2025 and is already making strides toward a brighter future. Saul shares what it was like on his very first day after being picked up by VTC. A dedicated and hardworking individual, Saul talks about staying motivated and productive by recently starting with Uber Eats while he works toward his goals. He also opens up about his military experience, the challenges he’s faced along the way, and the path that ultimately led him to VTC.

Inside ARG: A Deeper Dive Into VTC’s New Program

In this episode, we take a deeper dive into VTC’s new Adult Reentry Grant (ARG) program by hearing from both sides of the experience. We’re joined by Juliana, an ARG case manager, who shares insight into the purpose of the program and the population it serves. We’re also joined by Roman Deleon, one of the very first Veterans to enter the ARG program, who opens up about his military service, his transition out of the military, and the path that led him to VTC. Roman reflects on his experience so far, his new role as a VTC driver, and the goals he’s working toward as he continues building a stable future. Together, their perspectives offer an honest and hopeful look at how the ARG program is creating pathways to second chances.

What happens when two paths cross at just the right moment? GPD Case Manager Christopher Sakamoto and Navy Veteran Chris Murphy share their stories of finding purpose through unexpected opportunities. Christopher talks about leaving behind a career in video editing after discovering his passion for helping others, while Chris recounts the chance encounter at a Denny’s that led him to VTC just before he lost his home. Today, Chris is rebuilding his lif by searching for work, exploring college, and moving forward with confidence. This episode highlights the power of timing and taking that first brave step.
