Dead Man's Party, commissioned by artist Daryl James of Ohio, IG: @Safetycub Hiya! My name's Terry J. Aman and in this, my 19th episode of VideoFuzzy the Soundtrack titled "Dead Man's Party," I celebrate artists in my collection beginning with the letter O. My Title Track for this one, "Dead Man's Party," opens with Oingo Boingo's single by that name, which inspired my to commission a piece from my artist friend Daryl James in Ohio. You can check out his page on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/safetycub/. It also opened my conversation about Influences [artists with entire LPs in my collection] where I talk about Oingo Boingo's 1985 LP release of the same name. Also, check out my third-ever VideoFuzzy the Soundtrack ... The Video! release at https://youtu.be/ZjankO6xu78. In other Influences, I talk about Open Mind, their music available at https://citizenfreak.com/artists/106236-open-mind with playlist available at https://bit.ly/4fvYTWd with info on jazz artist Chantal Chamberland's website https://chantalc.com. Also, Oak Grove Lutheran High School's 1994 Choir "In Sacred Concert." In Breakouts [artists with multiple songs in my collection], I interview my Denver-based DJ friend Drew Brady's extended play Orsica release, available through Bandcamp at https://orsicasongs.bandcamp.com/album/moon-age, with an Instagram presence at @midibehr, @br0thersaturn, @orsicasongs and @chromadrift. Plus The Offspring, OKGO and OutKast. Under Sparks [artists with one song in my collection], I talk about Ozzy Osbourne, Olivia Newton John, Olive, Orgy, Orquestra d'Soul, Oleg Prodeus, Our Last Night, Our Lady Peace and O-Zone. As always, any "music" or "singing" anyone thought they heard in this tiny indie podcast I can assure you that it wasn't. Any low-bar karaoke attempts were nothing more than simple sketch reference included for illustrative purposes to prompt listeners to track down and explore commercially available music through officially licensed sources and is by no means meant to infringe on anyone's copyright, licensing or distribution agreements. Go forth, buy songs and support the artists you love. And for more, please add, subscribe and follow me wherever you get your podcasts, or contact me through the links provided or by emailing tjaman1970@yahoo.com. Happy listening!

episode Ep. 18: Carnival artwork

Ep. 18: Carnival

Hiya! My name's Terry J. Aman and in this, my 18th episode of VideoFuzzy the Soundtrack titled "Carnival," I celebrate artists in my collection beginning with the letter N. I open with a nice comment from my friend Joe Koppinger about episode 17. You can learn more about what he gets up to pop culture and comic book-wise at his YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@CrazyHungarian/ Then, in a bit of Housekeeping, comments on potential parallels between a couple millennial releases and punk era music I'd touched on in episode 17, and a few new unmarketed features I've encountered in my Apple Music app functionality on my PC and share a few workarounds I've discovered. My Title Track for this one, "Carnival," opens with Natalie Merchant's single by that name, which opens my conversation about Influences [artists with entire LPs in my collection] where I talk about Natalie Merchant's 1995 release "Tigerlily." My Lost Tracks resumes a thread I'd brought up with my Apple Music app discussion, as well as a couple Nickelback songs and some easy listening and jazz music I recovered into my collection. In other Influences, I talk about Nirvana, opening with a clip I tracked down of musician Maxwell Hughes covering their "Smells Like Teen Spirit," more at his Maxwell Hughes Music YouTube channel at https://bit.ly/4sZu93M Then comments on "Territorial Pissings" hand off to a discussion of Chris Gaines' "Right Now." Additional Influences in my collection include No Doubt, Natalie Imbruglia, Nina Simone and Nicki French. In Breakouts [artists with multiple songs in my collection], comments on Nickelback, Nat King Cole, Nine Inch Nails, and the contributions of Nathan Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris to the Joss Whedon musicals "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" and "Commentary!" Old Business pulls up the Monty Python's Flying Circus "Marilyn Monroe" sketch from their 1988 release "The Final Ripoff." My recording includes some audio from the "Pearl Harbor" sketch, posted to their YouTube channel at https://bit.ly/4cQcxSc. The original sketch is posted there as well: https://bit.ly/485JAPw Under Sparks [artists with one song in my collection], I talk about Neoni, Nancy Sinatra, Nazareth, Never the Bride, Nice and Wild, New Stories, Nerf Herder, NVRLSS and Nikki Blonsky [et al.] in the absolute show-stopper finale from John Waters' 2007 remake of "Hairspray." As always, any "music" or "singing" anyone thought they heard in this tiny indie podcast I can assure you that it wasn't. Any low-bar karaoke attempts were nothing more than simple sketch reference included for illustrative purposes to prompt listeners to track down and explore commercially available music through officially licensed sources and is by no means meant to infringe on anyone's copyright, licensing or distribution agreements. Ep. 17: Long Way Down

Terry J. Aman, left, and Minneapolis artist Mikey Heinrich. Hiya! My name's Terry J. Aman and in this, my 17th episode of VideoFuzzy the Soundtrack titled "Long Way Down," I celebrate artists in my collection beginning with the letter M. Technically it's the second entry for M artists -- Ep. 16: Angels Would Fall focused on Melissa Etheridge and the half-dozen LPs of hers in my collection, and you can track that down as well. My Title Track for this one, "Long Way Down," opens with Michael Penn's 1992 single by that name, which opens my conversation about Influences [artists with entire LPs in my collection]. I talk about Michael Penn's 1989 single "No Myth," and several tracks in his 1992 LP release "Free For All." In other influences, I talk about Madonna, Maroon 5, Mindy Smith, Mannheim Steamroller and Meredith Brooks. In Breakouts [artists with multiple songs in my collection], I feature original music and a conversation with longtime friend and Minneapolis artist Mikey Heinrich, who you can follow at his YouTube channel, absolute joy to chat with about his "Love Song to Jane Espensen" and more. Other Breakouts in my collection I chat about Marilyn Manson, Matchbox 20, Muse, Miranda Lambert, Meghan Trainor, Memphis May Fire, The Mamas and The Papas, Michael Jackson, Me'shell Ndegeocello and Miss Li. Under Sparks [artists with one song in my collection], I talk about Mary Chapin Carpenter, Missy Higgins, Moby, Mos Def, My Darkest Days f/ Ludacris, Moloko, The Mountain Goats, Murray Head, Missy Elliot f/ Mya, P!nk, Lil Kim and Christina Aguilera, Ming Tea and Masanori Akita. As always, any "music" or "singing" anyone thought they heard in this tiny indie podcast I can assure you that it wasn't [from me, at least -- Mikey Heinrich's original works used with permission of the artist]. Any low-bar karaoke attempts were nothing more than simple sketch reference included for illustrative purposes to prompt listeners to track down and explore commercially available music through officially licensed sources and is by no means meant to infringe on anyone's copyright, licensing or distribution agreements.
