Descripción

About a year ago I learned about the use of JEDI (Justice, Equity Diversity and Inclusion) as an acronym to describe a new wave of diversity professionals. In this episode Alex and Dr. Jared Clemons (@jayctigerfan) explore some of the opportunities and limitations of this framing, including a discussion on the drawbacks of using JEDI to describe a movement intended to advance racial justice in the real world. Where did it come from? Is it appropriate? And would you join this JEDI order? We also discuss the broader implications of DEI work (diversity, equity and inclusion) and what it means for representation in Star Wars and in other areas of our lives like work, education, politics, etc.  READ UP ON IT: WHY THE TERM ‘JEDI’ IS PROBLEMATIC FOR DESCRIBING PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE JUSTICE, EQUITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION [https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-the-term-jedi-is-problematic-for-describing-programs-that-promote-justice-equity-diversity-and-inclusion/] SUPPORT ABORTION FUNDS - People are organizing around abortion. E3: "Too many Black people" in Fallen Order and an Attack of the Clones lovefest with Jordan (@Tbluepulser66)

In this week's episode, Jordan (@Tbluepulser66) and I celebrate our favorite moments from Attack of the Clones on the film's 20th anniversary and react to allegations about the creators of Jedi: Fallen Order suggesting there are too many Black people (2?!) in the game.
