Welcome to VisAbleBlackwoman, the podcast. My Name is Jeanine T. Abraham, and I’m your host. It feels good to be back, and I’m happy to share my podcast with you on Substack, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts. Today I’ve got an interview with Adjani Salmon, the co-creator, writer, and star of Dreaming Whilst Black [https://medium.com/@visableblackwoman/dreaming-whilst-black-s2-is-like-a-dear-friends-return-441a3e6b7dda?sk=25a104b1b87a71364bdb53371c18ec12]. Season two premiered globally on Paramount+ on Friday, February 20, 2026. In the season premiere, Kwabena, played expertly by Adjani Salmon, is looking for his first directing job in TV. After the mistakes he made in season one, he’s determined to do better and sees the perfect opportunity for Sin and Subterfuge, a new color-blind cast drama set in the Regency era. Kwabena believes this show may be the manifestation of his dreams, but the unintended consequences take him on a hilarious journey of self-discovery that includes his family, friends, and Vanessa, the woman he adores. I spoke with Adjani Salmon on Zoom at the NYC press junket on a cold, snowy afternoon in February, shortly after the world premiere.  We had 8 minutes and discussed Black creative artists and self-care, the writing process, and the elevation of Dark Skinned Black love in season two.  So please sit back, relax, and enjoy this quick conversation with the brilliant and talented Adjani Salmon of Dreaming Whilst Black. TIFF50 World Premiere Steve

From the https://tiff.net/films/steveSteve [https://tiff.net/films/steve]TIFF50 film website [https://tiff.net/films/steve], “Oscar winner Cillian Murphy anchors this gripping adaptation of a bestselling novella from 2023. Faced with ever-increasing pressures, the head of a crumbling reform school for boys navigates a pivotal, fraught day while clinging to a fading sense of hope.” Please CLICK HERE [https://medium.com/@visableblackwoman/tiff50-film-review-netflixs-steve-seeks-compassion-but-is-all-tied-up-in-violence-2977492e7a77] to read my review on Medium.
