Descripción

We open on Day 31, which also happens to be Opening Day for the Atlanta Braves — because what’s a global podcast adventure without a little MLB shoutout which turns into a shoutout to the realest fans laughing in their trucks. Noah & Chloe. Y’all are the reason this magic exists. From there, we spiral into the sociological impact of podcasting on baby voice usage. Apparently, this very podcast has rewired their brains into speaking like grownups instead of mushy gremlins. But don’t worry — silly voices live on through new alter egos, including “Pee Pee the 20-Year-Old Boy,” a social media manager for a baseball card company who says things like “Sweet pull, bro!” to 55-year-old men and 17 year old tween adults. Then...  Today did NOT go according to plan. What was supposed to be a sun-drenched farewell walk to the coffee shop ended up a full-blown wring-out-your-socks thunderstorm of doom. But, we tried without the giving of up. With one baby umbrella, soggy backpacks, and a three-legged-race energy, we slip-slided our way down the hill, holding onto each other and holding on to life. Then it's a series of laundromat, coffee shop, coffee stand, laundromat, coffee shop, pizza shop, back up again. Or something like that...  A little rain can't reach my parade! Until your favorite spot it — closed. Favorite baristas? Gone. Emotional goodbye? Gone. Forced to improvise, we take a few trips around town and land at Jerry's. Kind Jerry.  It was time for the final climb and for kissing goodbye the leg strength I'd have if I did that for 11 months instead of 11 days.  We made it just in time to reflect on how dreamy this little cliffside town has been. The kind of place that softens you from the inside out. We talk about what it would feel like to live there for a year — and how beautiful it’s been to build a tiny, real life in this magical corner of the world.

Day 30

Today’s episode isn’t just a podcast. It’s a journey. A workout audio session. A 500+ stair, seven-phase, epic quest up a mountainside in the rain — recorded live, mid-hike, mid-pant, and with zero shame. We kick off strong with some scripture: “Who shall ascend the mountain?” Taylor asks, as if we’re not just trying to survive 30 minutes of cardio mid chat. Perri says Moses, which is kinda the wrong answer... We walk you through our favorite landmarks: their favorite barista (Lisa, who now hugs them, as all good friends do), the soccer field, and that one steep corner that makes them question rolling down the mountain. It’s rainy, slippery, and aggressively uphill — the perfect time to ask you, dear listener, “How was your day?” (Take your time responding so we can gasp for oxygen.) In between wheezes, we learn essential cultural info climbing strategies, you name it. You're on a tour.  Then we reach Dogtown — Phase Five of the climb and a flat stretch where you're walked through the ecosystem of baby poop piles (allegedly from baby dogs), a German shepherd with a T-Rex arm aesthetic, and one mysterious woman who always seems to be talking out her window. It's perfect. And finally, the last climb. Phase Seven. We count down, press on, power up... and we. make. it.
