Watchmaidens Youth Podcast
We conclude our series on Rich Work Versus Poor Work, inspired by the teachings of Watchmaidens’ Ministry International. In this episode, we reflect on Luke 16:8 (AMP), where Jesus points out that the people of this world are often more strategic in their pursuits than the children of light. It's a timely challenge for believers, especially young people, to embrace purposeful work that advances God's Kingdom instead of pursuing the world's shortcuts to wealth. Drawing lessons from Enugu's coal mining history and the wisdom of Proverbs 13:11, we examine why many people shy away from meaningful work and how the spirit behind what we do determines whether our labour is rich or poor. Rich work strengthens the spirit and leaves lasting fulfilment. Poor work may promise quick rewards, but it ultimately drains the soul. We also share a personal testimony about resisting the temptation to compromise our faith for financial gain, the importance of maintaining a tender conscience before God, and how genuine repentance made room for His supernatural provision. This episode is a call to rise above survival, partner with God in soul-winning and nation-building, and commit to work that carries eternal value. Listen now and be inspired to pursue the kind of work that truly matters. Read the full transcript here.
