Welcome to Sherbrooke
Welcome to Sherbrooke is a podcast that takes you inside Sherbrooke Community Centre; a long-term care home in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where 263 residents live and which follows the Eden Alternative Philosophy of Care. In this episode, we are visiting our Community Day Program [https://www.sherbrookecommunitycentre.ca/community-day-program/] to discover how it is meeting the needs of the greater community, and why participants enjoy spending time in the program. The Community Day Program is a welcoming and vibrant program that offers participants the opportunity to connect with people in meaningful ways while supporting caregivers in the greater Saskatoon community. Participants come from all corners of Saskatoon and are welcomed by program staff when they enter our Tawaw Centre, which is our main gathering space at Sherbrooke. There are so many examples of people making genuine connections in the Community Day Program, while being able to access the art studio, our physiotherapy gym, spiritual care services, and join our recreation team on excursions. This episode will introduce you to several participants, along with Community Day Program staff, to give you a sense of how dynamic and caring this program is.
