In 1793, a South Carolina man documented an "Indian" term for a supposed Bigfoot: Chickly Cudly. In the 1990's, "Chickly Cudly" was incorrectly transliterated as a supposed Cherokee term "Kecleh Kudleh" meaning 'hairy man." My research shows that this is an incorrect transliteration of Chickly Cudly into the Cherokee language and provides the correct Cherokee term and translation.
