What Worked For Us : Conversations with Mothers and Rita Kara Robinson
Disclaimer: during this recording, the internet cut out so I had to edit this conversation. The thing is, I was a bit overzealous with the editing, a bit like when you cut your own fringe for the first time and cut too much off, and now you can't go back. So I sound like I'm in a hurry at the start, but I promise I calm down. I have worked with Arjola and Steven for several years and seen tremendous progress. Working with a child for so long has helped me see what can really be achieved, how long it tales, and what it takes, so I can pass that information onto mothers, without relying on theories. They are both bilingual, living in the USA. He had severe eating issues, he could not chew and held food in his cheeks. When I observe him in calls now, he looks neurotypical, plays appropriately for his age and answers my questions by typing on a tablet. We both never knew this was going to happen at the start, and persevered. This is Arjola's story: Timestamps: 0.54: Symptoms at the start 1.36: Using homeopathy and supplements 3.56 Food issues, could not chew solids, limited diet 10.00 Non-verbal 11.00 Using play to measure progress 17.26 School not helping 18.56 What happens when the mother takes homeopathy and heals 22.00 I thought I was fine 28.00 I used to focus just on speech, because I want speech to come now 29.00 He is now typing advice to his parents
