When was the last time you burned an effigy of the Pope? I never have, out of respect. What's interesting here is how these seeds of tradition have become ingrained in our culture over time. How these traditions grow and how they fade. When my parents were kids, they would ask, "Penny for a Guy?" By the time I was a sprog, I knew nothing about this but could delicately light the back of the Yonshakudama, eyes closed. If Robert Catesby were alive today, would he j'adore a white Kinder Bueno?
