While some critical programs like Social Security and Medicare may continue, others like food assistance, student loan processing, and various safety inspections can be delayed or suspended. The economy is also impacted through delayed federal contracts and reduced consumer spending, particularly when federal employees miss paychecks.

Mom With Autism

Being a girl or woman with autism is hard: it’s only in the past two to three years that many professionals have begun to recognise that the condition is not limited to boys and men. But what’s harder is to be a mother with autism – and harder than that, is to be a mother with autism, of children with autism. Experts say that there is a hidden pool of mothers who have grown up with undiagnosed autism. These women often only recognize their own condition when researching their children’s symptoms.

Domestic Violence Awareness

Domestic violence is prevalent in every community, and affects all people regardless of age, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. Physical violence is often accompanied by emotionally abusive and controlling behavior as part of a much larger, systematic pattern of dominance and control. Domestic violence can result in physical injury, psychological trauma, and even death.
