Did you ever have that “talk” with your mom or dad? You know the one. Well, we never actually had the talk in my house. Instead, we had incident that forced uncomfortable conversations and led to outcomes that were equal parts hilarious and painfully cringy. Looking back, I’m not sure if those moments made things better or worse, but they definitely made them memorable. And honestly, I think those ridiculous exchanges taught me more than any formal sit-down ever could. Funny how the most embarrassing situations end up becoming the stories you tell for the rest of your life. f

Horror movies that scared the &*^&% outta us as kids

In celebration of Halloween, this first episode features Justin and Eric discussing the scary movies they watched way too young. Eric shares how Poltergeist affected him, and we reminisce about the creepiness of Zelda Rubinstein, who played the medium that cleanses the house. Justin also confesses his discomfort around short people. The mythos surrounding Poltergeist ranges from alleged curses to the use of real human skeletons during filming. Justin’s pick is Phantasm—and if you haven’t seen it yet, spoiler alert: it’s a psychedelic fever dream masquerading as a horror movie. Justin does his damndest to explain the unexplainable, but you’ll just have to tune in to understand how a Tall Man, flying spheres, Jawas, a skullet, and tuning forks all tie together. This whole episode is a Poltergasm if you will ;) f
