St. Croix Central High School celebrated its “Iconic Class of 2026,” sending off 152 graduates — nearly half of them honor students — after a year marked by major academic gains, undefeated basketball seasons, and new honor societies. Virgin Islands standouts Michelle Smith, Sofia Swindell, and Saraiah Walkes turned in big performances on the collegiate championship stage, elevating the territory’s growing footprint in national track and field. New court filings show Brett “Mac” McClafferty is asking a judge to let him travel to St. Croix to campaign for delegate to Congress while he awaits trial on local fraud charges.
