A Superior Court judge has ruled that 16-year-old Angelo Javier Carmona is competent to stand trial as an adult in connection with the 2025 killing of comedian Jordan Jones on the Christiansted boardwalk, finding that while the teen lacks legal knowledge and experience, he still has a rational understanding of the proceedings and can assist in his own defense. Virgin Islands standouts Michelle Smith, Sofia Swindell, and Saraiah Walkes turned in big performances on the collegiate championship stage, elevating the territory’s growing footprint in national track and field.
