Local girl puts down softball bat for fight against bone cancer

10-year-old Livi Miller of Oakland County will be playing in her last softball tournament this Saturday before beginning treatment for osteosarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer. The diagnosis came suddenly when her parents took her in for an apparent sports injury, but the X-ray confirmed their worst fears. Her father works for the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, her mother is a teacher at Our Lady of Lakes, and her 6-year-old brother Lincoln is too young to understand. The family has set up a GoFundMe page [https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-alivia-miller-and-family] as they face extended time off work plus expensive travel to her hospital appointments.
