Principles of the Kingdom: Seek First the Kingdom | Keith Golightly

What are you seeking in life? What holds prime significance in your heart? There are many powerful Kingdom principles we must learn and live out, but none of them can transform us if we do not “seek first the Kingdom of God.” To seek His Kingdom first means giving it ultimate priority—allowing it to shape our desires, our thoughts, and the direction of our lives. It becomes the reality we hunger for most and the atmosphere in which we long to live. When the Kingdom becomes our first pursuit, everything else in life finds its proper place. God orders what we cannot, aligns what we struggle to hold together, and fills our lives with purpose that earthly pursuits can never offer. In the end, seeking His Kingdom first is not just a command—it is the doorway to the Life we were created for in Jesus. Principles of the Kingdom: Is What I am Doing What God is Doing? | Keith Golightly

“Is what I am doing what God is doing?”  This is a question every follower of Jesus must ask DAILY. It reaches deeper than behavior—it confronts motive, the very thing that either sanctifies or defiles our actions. Make no mistake: God is a God of motive (Proverbs 21:2). He is often more concerned with WHY we do things than simply WHAT we do. Scripture reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain.” It is entirely possible to engage in activities God is not doing Himself and to speak words God is not speaking. The Holy Spirit longs to align our motives with His will—so that our lives reflect the righteousness of Christ and so that we walk in a way that strengthens, rather than stumbles, our brothers and sisters in the faith. Principles of the Kingdom: Spiritual Authority | Keith Golightly

Spiritual authority is one of the most vital and often misunderstood principles in the Kingdom of God. It’s the divine structure through which God brings order, protection, and purpose to His people. Yet, in a culture that prizes independence, mocks submission, and treats authority with suspicion, this Kingdom value often feels upside down. But in God’s Kingdom, authority isn’t about control—it’s about covering; it’s not about power over others—it’s about alignment under God. Jesus Himself demonstrated perfect authority by perfect submission to the Father. When we reject spiritual authority, we step out from under the very order God designed to bless and empower us. But when we embrace it, we find freedom, unity, and strength to advance His Kingdom with confidence and peace.
