Episode 15: 2025 Annual Meeting Preview

Join JT and Jody as they preview the 2025 SBC Annual Meeting in Dallas which is coming up June 10-11. While the intent was to discuss the Annual Meeting in general, they ended up chasing a few squirrels sharing their thoughts on topics which may, or may not, be brought up at the annual meeting including financial transparency and the possibility of a ‘new’ Law Amendment type of motion being presented.   But before diving into all things Annual Meeting, includingwhat everyone seems to be calling it now, JT shares the titles of the three books he referenced in episode 14 as most useful in his sermon prep, which are: * The Bible Exposition Commentary (Pentateuch: Genesis –Deuteronomy) by Warren W Wiersbe * Deuteronomy: A Favored Book of Jesus by Bernard Schneider * Notes on Deuteronomy (Vol 1) by CH MacKintosh   If you’ll be in Dallas this year for the Annual Meeting, keepan eye out for they guys and feel free to stop they to say hello and share your favorite Biblical dad joke with them.

Thankfully the plan all along was for JT to be the focus of the show since Jody was still getting his voice back at the time of recording.   If you haven’t listened to the sermon yet, be sure to goback and listen to episode 13 of the podcast. This episode is actually the recording of Jody presenting the Easter story to the children present at Bellview Baptist Church in Laurens, SC's annual community easter egg hunt. Hopefully it will give you an idea of how simple it can be to share the Easter story with children at your church this weekend, with or without props.
