A Really-Truly Princess Audiobook by Amanda Kastner

From enchanted frogs to lost slippers to 100-year naps, Rosellen wants to be a really-truly Princess just like the ones in her book. Follow Rosellen through five fairy-tale inspired escapades as she discovers that real life problems can't always be solved in story-book style - even if you are a Princess! Members Reviews: Delightful! A wonderful reading of an charming story. Rosellen is an endearing character, and my children and I have enjoyed getting to know her. I highly recommend also getting the hard copy, because the story is greatly enhanced by the charming illustrations! My older children were initially less impressed by the characterization in the audio performance, but I think it may grow on them; we all love the story. And we did wonder why the reader pronounced Rosellen the way she did, since it was not quite what we had heard in our heads. But then she has a lovely British accent, and we do not. Charming and such winning voice acting! Would you consider the audio edition of A Really-Truly Princess to be better than the print version? This Audible version enhances the print version. Sarah Kempton's accents for all the characters are darling and perfect. We love this! What other book might you compare A Really-Truly Princess to and why? If you love traditional fairy tales, this is a new spin on a bunch of them. Truly unique and fun. What does Sarah Kempton bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book? The perfect English accents and different voices for each character. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be? She wanted to make sure she was *really* a princess! Fun story, funny antics If you could sum up A Really-Truly Princess in three words, what would they be? Fun childhood antics What did you like best about this story? Approachable story with great characters. Good sized chapters with self contained stories that connect well into the overall narrative. I love the antics that are inspired by princess stories. Have you listened to any of Sarah Kemptons other performances before? How does this one compare? I haven't listened to any of Sarah's other works but she does a great job on this book. Love it! Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting? It would be a fun book to listen to in a single sitting but we have been taking it a chapter at a time with my girls at bedtime. Any additional comments? Love the book and the performance. My 5 yr old was hesitant during the first chapter but even she has been enjoying it after that. "I want to listen to it 100 times!" What did you love best about A Really-Truly Princess? I loved the way the audiobook brought an already favorite book even more alive to my daughters. My 8-year-old daughter told me, "Mom, I don't want to just listen to it 1 time. I want to listen to it 100 times!" Who was your favorite character and why? My girls love Rosellen because she tries so much to be like storybook princesses when she's a real life princess. What does Sarah Kempton bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book? My daughters loved the way she gave each character a unique voice.

aflevering Nerdy Ever After Audiobook by Linda Rey artwork

Nerdy Ever After Audiobook by Linda Rey

Listen to this audiobook in full for free on http://hotaudiobook.com [http://hotaudiobook.com] Title: Nerdy Ever After Subtitle: Confessions of a Nerdy Girl, Book 1 Author: Linda Rey Narrator: Dacey Else Format: Unabridged Length: 4 hrs and 58 mins Language: English Release date: 11-17-17 Publisher: Pretty Bird Literary Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10 Publisher's Summary: Wilhelmina Shisbey is unlucky number thirteen.... She's the thirteenth person in the world to be documented with H-SAM, (highly superior autographical memory). For Willa, every day of her loser life is as vivid as the last, beginning with the moment her birth mother dumped her off at the Children's Home Society, one day after her first birthday. But Willa's reality only grows worse when her adoptive family moves from a Chicago suburb to Huntington Beach, California, where Willa continues to struggle as a perpetual outsider. That is, until her luck changes when she befriends the super-smart Marley Applegate, editor of the troubled school paper, and intentional under-achiever Cody Cassidy, who also happens to be the hottest boy at Triton Middle School. Surviving the mine field that is middle school is a full-time job. But when a new student arrives on campus - a boy with cerebral palsy who sits in a wheelchair - it's up to Willa to convince her classmates that it just might be cool to be kind, and that just because you don't fit in, it doesn't mean you don't belong. Members Reviews: Nerdy--No way!!! Willa is the girl that EVERYONE does, or should, want to be like! Willa is an absolute sweetheart of a girl! You don't have to be the prettiest or most popular girl in the school, to be like Willa. Everyone knows that it's the measure of the heartfelt caring and sharing, empathy, love, and compassion, for the people around you--for family and friends, and potential friends-to-be, that are a mark of a truly great human being, and real, deep down, all-of-the-way-through "beauty. I'd rather have one Willa for my friend, than a thousand "pretty," narcissistic, bratty, "popular" rich brats for friends. True friends lift you up when you're feeling down, they'll share the last of their last French Fries, or loan you the coat off of their back when you get cold. If you're hurt, they're right beside you holding your hand, easing your pain. They give you moral support when it feels like your world is at an end, hugs just "because," you need them, and understanding when you least deserve or expect it. They're a lifelong, constant source of friendship, courage, strength, humor and laughter, shenanigans, and a little bit of everything else that makes one's life worthwhile, during good times and bad, and all of the in-between stuff. One good, true, wonderful friend like Willa or Marley, is worth their weight in gold! And sometimes, you're lucky enough during your lifetime, to find that special person, who sets the bar so high, that everyone wants to be her, or be like her. Ultimately, it's not what you see on the outside that's important, but what's on the inside, that defines a real, true friend. If you have wondered how to teach your children, adolescent, or someone else you know that could use them, morals, then gifting them this book is a mighty fine place to start in teaching them the basics! Thanks, Linda Rey, for another beautifully written book about teen angst, friendship, and being the very best possible people that we can be, regardless of gender, color, or disabilities! It's been an absolute pleasure going on yet another charming, sweet, journey with Willa.

aflevering Rowan of Rin Audiobook by Emily Rodda artwork

Rowan of Rin Audiobook by Emily Rodda

Listen to this audiobook in full for free on http://hotaudiobook.com [http://hotaudiobook.com] Title: Rowan of Rin Subtitle: Rowan of Rin, Book 1 Author: Emily Rodda Narrator: Rachael Blake Format: Unabridged Length: 3 hrs and 45 mins Language: English Release date: 11-08-17 Publisher: Bolinda Publishing Pty Ltd Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 2 votes Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10 Publisher's Summary: The first instalment in the award-winning Rowan of Rin fantasy series for children. Bravest heart will carry on when sleep is death and hope is gone. Rowan doesn't believe he has a brave heart. But when the river that supports his village of Rin runs dry, he must join a dangerous journey to its source in the forbidden Mountain. To save Rin, Rowan and his companions must conquer not only the Mountain's many tricks but also the fierce dragon that lives at its peak. Members Reviews: Great series Great series by Emily Rodda. Have to admit, a bit slower and not as good as the Deltora series. But great for a bit younger audience. Read up to the 5th book to my 5yo and she loves them. The book centers around a young boy that lives in a village (Rin) which is comprised of a tribe of people that are hardworking warrior class. The main character, Rowan, is different from everyone else in his village as he's shy and introverted. He fears just about everything, but during his adventures, he overcomes his fears and ends up finding courage in the most dire of situations....and becomes the hero. The series really meshes together well....from book to book. It does have some good twists, and not very predictable- overall a great story and could be a good read for young readers - boy or girl. A Childhood Favorite I remember having this book read to me as a kid in elementary school when the teacher would take us to the library. I forgot about it, then years later remembered it and wanted to read it. Even then, it took a couple more years and a very kind person on Yahoo! Answers to remind me what the title of this book was. After finding out, I knew I had to buy it. Reading through it once again, I relived a childhood classic. The only thing keeping this book from receiving 5 stars is its short length. Most books weigh in at around 250-400 pages, whereas this thin book has only 151, not including the preview of the next book. Nonetheless, this might make it easy for some to read, especially younger people. A great read for anyone who likes adventures. that it's still digestible and enjoyable to a 20 something like myself. Rodda never disappoints. She is clever beyond words, and proves that her writing chops extends beyond cryptic riddles and puzzles. Every book starts with a "prophecy" that unfolds as the story goes, but Rodda is always sure to bring much more to the table. She crams in so much and so many mature themes into her "kids" books, that it's still digestible and enjoyable to a 20 something like myself. Awesome Book Despite the fact that this book can easily be read and enjoyed by an elementary age student, I still immensely enjoy the story of an underdog young boy proving that trying to be scared of nothing simply means that when you do get scared of something you will have had no practice at overcoming your fears. Love this book (my favorite in the series probably, with Keeper of the Crystal coming in a close second). Riveting and exciting Awesome awesome book, Emily Rodda. I'm in my 40s and was reading it to be able to discuss with my middle schooler, and ended up not being able to put it down. Compelling, fascinating! Love.

aflevering History for Kids: The Battle of Gettysburg Audiobook by Charles River Editors artwork

History for Kids: The Battle of Gettysburg Audiobook by Charles River Editors

Listen to this audiobook in full for free on http://hotaudiobook.com [http://hotaudiobook.com] Title: History for Kids: The Battle of Gettysburg Author: Charles River Editors Narrator: Dan Gallagher Format: Unabridged Length: 23 mins Language: English Release date: 10-20-17 Publisher: Charles River Editors Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10 Publisher's Summary: In Charles River Editors' History for Kids series, your children can learn about history's most important people and events in an easy, entertaining, and educational way. The concise but comprehensive audiobook will keep your kid's attention all the way to the end. Without question, the most famous battle of the American Civil War took place outside of the small town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, which happened to be a transportation hub, serving as the center of a wheel with several roads leading out to other Pennsylvanian towns. From July 1 to July 3, Robert E. Lee's Confederate Army of Northern Virginia tried everything in its power to decisively defeat George Meade's Union Army of the Potomac, unleashing ferocious assaults that inflicted nearly 50,000 casualties in all. Day 1 of the battle would have been one of the 25 biggest battles of the Civil War itself, and it ended with a tactical Confederate victory. But over the next two days, Lee would try and fail to dislodge the Union army with attacks on both of its flanks during the second day and Pickett's Charge on the third and final day. Meade's stout defense held, barely, repulsing each attempted assault, handing the Union a desperately needed victory that ended up being one of the Civil War's turning points. After the South had lost the war, the importance of Gettysburg as one of the "high tide" marks of the Confederacy became apparent to everyone, making the battle all the more important in the years after it had been fought. While former Confederate generals cast about for scapegoats, with various officers pointing fingers at Robert E. Lee, James Longstreet, and James Stuart, historians and avid Civil War fans became obsessed with studying and analyzing all the command decisions and army movements during the entire campaign. Despite the saturation of coverage, Americans refuse to grow tired of visiting the battlefield and reliving the biggest battle fought in North America. History for Kids: The Battle of Gettysburg comprehensively covers the battle, analyzes the decisions made by the battle's most important leaders, and explains the aftermath of the Union victory and the legacies that were made and tarnished by the battle. Your kids will learn about the Battle of Gettysburg like never before. Members Reviews: I purchased this book to read with my children before ... I purchased this book to read with my children before a trip to battlefield. While informative it was not very engaging. another HUGE hit! I'm a big fan of American history, especially the civil war! So when I do my reading for the day I ask my mom to download another book if she has extra school money for it. I also suggest other books of this series because it shows maps and everything! The Battle of Gettysburg I would recommend this book for a bird's eye view of the battle of Gettysburg. I have read other accounts of this battle but like to read shorter accounts also. Civil War Books! Another great short history of the Civil War, will be added to my ebook Civil War Collection. Thanks so much! HISTORY FOR KIDS/ Gettysburg This books helps bring history into the "real" for children. Having the History series allows me to spend quality time with children.
