I Emerge Unlearned

I am broken, and I'm Without energy. I need Something different To go to... Water falls from heaven And the Earth is dampened. I'm standing there with a blank stare... And I...run, I run And I...stumble, oh And I...fall, I fall And I crawl... I am muddy, and it Doesn't bother me. And I Find a body Of water up ahead. As I near the water, I can Feel the power, and I Cry out, "Mother, Can you help me?" Then my body gives way; I am submerged. With eyes wide open, I care not that I am of Earth. And I drown and I breathe.. in and out. Without pain, I surrender; I am sustained. And the trees reach to the water to lend me their fragrant flowers and oils. And the fires down below reach up to boil. When I reach the bottom, the roots Take hold of me, and the Soil surrounds me And buries me.. There in my tomb, in my Earthly cocoon, there I Incubate; I am re-made. And the water is no more; it is absorbed. When the fire recedes, air hardens the soil. Time to wake The Earth quakes I emerge... Unlearned.

From Him to Turn Away

I come with great love and understanding. He said he would treat me like a Queen. I believed him, and I followed him. I waited until I understood that he would not take me AS his Queen. “I do not understand you,” I said, and he remained as he was. When he first found me, he told me that we would know each other. I believed him, I followed him, and I allowed him to know me in the most intimate way. We knew each other. Together we discovered someone for whom we had tender love and passion for–someone for whom we had great respect for who they are and for who they have been. My heart is heavy. I know this man. I’ve watched his eyes fill with water at the thought of turning me away. I found love in him, and he found love in me. And he would not let me go. I know this man, and so I know that he comes with love and the understanding that it comes with great difficulty for me from him to turn away..
