the romeo and juliet law [https://romeoandjulietlaw.us/] refers to a portion of a statute that allows certain people who have been convicted of sex offenses to have their names removed from the registration requirement it is not a defense to a crime to the actual crime of unlawful sexual activity or luden lascivious but if you've been convicted there are some criteria criteria that are very specific that allow you to remove your name such as you can't be any more than four years older than the victim in the case it had to be a consensual relationship so it includes people who were 18 19 years of age who may have been having a consensual relationship with someone under the age of 16 to come back later and remove their names from the requirement of sex offender
