Mic’d Up with Macsrebo Ep. 10: Family, Fandom & Cradle-Con Recap
In Episode 10 of Mic’d Up with Macsrebo, we recap one of our favorite events of the year — Cradle-Con at the legendary Cradle of Aviation Museum on Long Island!
https://www.cradleofaviation.org/plan_your_visit/cradle-con.html
This is our “home con,” and every year it feels like a giant celebration of fandom, creativity, cosplay, and family fun. We talk about what makes this convention so unique, from exploring the incredible aviation museum filled with historic aircraft hanging from the ceiling, to interactive plane exhibits where fans can touch controls, flip switches, and experience aviation history up close. Perfect for Hera Syndulla.
Throughout the weekend, Mackenzie transformed into multiple fan-favorite characters including Hera Syndulla, The Armorer, Rumi from KPOP Demon Hunters, a Fallout Squire alongside the incredible Pros and Cons cosplay group, and a human version of BumbleBee from Transformers!
We also talk about:
⭐ The amazing Star Wars meet-up
⭐ The 501st Legion and Saber Guild https://501ecg.com/ https://saberguild.org/
⭐ The creativity behind hand-built Fallout power armor built by our friends at Pros and Cons https://prosandconsind.com/
⭐ Meeting actor Lee Leary, who plays Davey in the Fallout series
⭐ The Adult Cosplay Contest on Saturday and the Kids Cosplay Contest on Sunday
⭐ Artists, comic creators, toy vendors, autograph guests, retro gaming, and collectibles
⭐ Why Cradle-Con is one of the BEST family-friendly conventions on Long Island
We also celebrate the friendships cosplay creates, including matching fandom moments with Abigail (https://www.instagram.com/mcheretic/) — from Mira & Rumi, to Alita One & BumbleBee, and Sue Storm & Valeria.
Whether you love Star Wars, Marvel, Transformers, anime, comics, gaming, or just want an incredible weekend with your family, Cradle-Con truly has something for everyone.
Built by fans, for fans — and all proceeds support the museum’s education and preservation programs.
