As we approach 2025 and set New Year resolutions, focus on your own needs. Choosing yourself isn’t selfish; you can’t pour from an empty cup. This journey is about creating long-term habits for lasting happiness. After this episode, take some quiet time to reflect on your “why.” What do you hope to achieve? Welcome back to another episode of the Mom Boss Experience! Today, I want to address the number one concern for anyone trying to lose weight: What should I eat? In a world filled with countless diets—keto, smoothies, teas, and various coaching programs—it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Many people fear carbs, and that fear can lead to unhealthy habits. From my own experiences, including bouncing back after two C-sections, I’ve learned that the more you avoid the foods you love, the stronger your cravings will become. This often leads to cycles of binge eating and yo-yo dieting. My coaching approach differs from many others; I focus on helping you develop sustainable habits for the long term. Sure, rapid weight loss is appealing. Who wouldn’t want to drop 15 pounds quickly? But what happens during the holidays, birthdays, or vacations? It’s crucial to know how to enjoy real food while still losing weight consistently. You shouldn’t feel like you have to starve yourself or miss out on life’s pleasures. You can enjoy date nights, vacations, and holidays while reaching your health and fitness goals. If you’re following a program that tells you to deprive yourself or do extreme things to lose weight, it’s probably not the right fit for you. From coaching over 20,000 women in the past decade, I can assure you that you can enjoy the foods you love and still lose weight. It’s about building long-term habits, not seeking overnight results. Remember, it took years to gain the weight you’re trying to lose. Why expect instant results now? We need to address both the physical and mental aspects of this journey. Stay tuned, as I’ll be sharing stories from clients who have successfully used my method—just like you, they’ve tried numerous approaches and may have lost faith in their ability to succeed. But I’m here to tell you: you can lose weight, keep it off, and do it sustainably.

Welcome to the first episode of the Mom Boss Podcast! I’m Coach Riona, and I’ve been coaching moms for nearly ten years. My journey has included many shifts and changes; I now have two boys, have experienced two emergency C-sections, and I’m a business owner, among other things. Life can get pretty hectic. I created the Mom Boss Coaching Program for busy moms who feel like they’ve lost themselves amidst the demands of motherhood, work, and marriage. There are so many moving parts, and it can be overwhelming and stressful. When it comes to weight management—especially weight gain—it can be confusing to know which methods to trust, what diets to follow, and how to stay consistent. On this podcast, I’ll cover not just health, fitness, and nutrition, but also the mental health aspects and the habits you need to develop to start and maintain your journey. I’ll share personal stories, client experiences, and some humor along the way. My hope is that you come here with an open mind, ready to learn and grow.
