Our buddy Mitch returns and we pick up where we left off in our track-by-track deep dive into Kings of Leon's second record Aha Shake Heartbreak. We sit down with our long time friend Mitchell (a name we've dropped countless times on this podcast) to chat about Kings of Leon's second record Aha Shake Heartbreak. An extremely formative band and record for the 3 of us, we reminisce about seeing the band open for The Strokes in 2003, rushing down to the local record shop to grab a copy of Aha Shake in 2005, and dive deep into every track of the record. We discuss the brilliant lyrical balance of raw vulnerability with unbridled testosterone, and the southern tinged garage rock sound that defined the group just before their meteoric mainstream rise in the years to come. Join us next week for part 2. Tracklist 1. Kings of Leon - Slow Night, So Long 2. Kings of Leon - King of the Rodeo 3. Kings of Leon - Taper Jean Girl 4. Kings of Leon - Pistol of Fire 5. Kings of Leon - Milk 6. Kings of Leon - The Bucket This show is part of the Pantheon Podcast Network. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices [https://megaphone.fm/adchoices]

We revisit Foals for the first time in over 7 years, with their debut record Antidotes being one of the very first albums we covered on this record. Picking up where we left off we cover their next 2 records, Total Life Forever and Holy Fire and explore the slow evolution from complex math rock to stadium-worthy anthems, always with a pop-forward lean tinged with a punk attitude. Tracklist 1. Foals - Inhaler 2. Foals - Two Steps, Twice 3. Foals - Black Gold 4. Foals - After Glow 5. Foals - What Remains 6. Foals - Everytime 7. Foals - Providence This show is part of the Pantheon Podcast Network. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices [https://megaphone.fm/adchoices]
