In this episode, we dive a little more in-depth as to what’s on the horizon for Nowhere Else, as well as explain why podcasting & video diaries have been the most effective method of escaping for me over the years. I stopped drinking...Here's why

This is a question I was asked over the summer and then asked again a few weeks ago. It made me stop and think. My answer then, compared to now are dramatically different, and it’s due to the choices and the changes I’ve made over the past few months. Last year was one of the most transformational years I’ve ever experienced in my entire life, and I know that’s a big statement, but I don’t really know how else to describe it to you. The biggest change isn’t what I’ve given up. It’s what I have gained since reclaiming myself. My relationship with alcohol has always been a doozy to explain and experience—for both myself and those around me. It all came down to the escape at the end of the day. Not the path we took, but I realized that wasn’t the safest for me anymore. Now here we are. Happy to be here because, truthfully, there is nowhere else I’d rather be. Ha, see what I did there? Quitting My "Dream Job"

Surprise?! I never imagined that this was something I would be saying, but here we are. The world has a mysterious way of forcing you to work through things. As a message to my younger self. I’m so proud of you and incredibly impressed by the way that you’re choosing to move through the world. We live in a society that prioritizes hustle over health. I, for one, have prioritized hustle over my own health for far too long. Now I’m standing in my truth, owning my decisions, and excited for what’s ahead. Hey Kids...

Allow me to properly introduce myself. Many of you may know me as Natalie Jean, Donna, DJ—any will do, but here, well, I like to think of myself as the conductor of this brand I’ve been building for quite a while. Okay, time to get this train moving. My entire life—for as long as I can remember, I’ve felt like I didn’t belong where I was. There was somewhere else I wanted to be or felt like I needed to be, but had no idea where I wanted to go. As time passed, the desire to get out grew bigger, louder. I’ve come to learn over time that there is nowhere else I need to go. That destination of peace I’ve been searching for can be found inside me. Through the haze—she’s in there. Ready and waiting for her moment to step into the sun. It took a long time, a lot of deep soul-scratching work, and the journey isn’t over, but I can confidently say that we are finally on the right path. Each episode will have an anchor and a title track for the community playlists. Cheesy cop out to start, but this episode’s anchor is music. Music saves lives, heals souls, and carries me through many stages of life. The sound matters. Building playlists this past summer saved me on many occasions. One I titled “Everyday” and would play it all the way through, no skips. Small habit, but worth it in the long run. Each episode will also have a Title Track because, true to our roots, we are building a community for others. This episode is as follows: I’m reclaiming my life, and know this is right where I need to be. Thank you for being here, firefly, and reading my story. I hope you’ll stay awhile. We’ll talk soon.
