It's not about the color of the napkins

This episode marks the first interview for this podcast (finally). We hear from one of my older brothers, Tyler, and his wife and my now-sister-in-law, Leah. I asked Tyler and Leah about a lot of things, but mainly they talk about their experiences with the wedding and about their relationship, and relationships more broadly.  Here are the questions I asked them (in order): 1. How did you two meet? 2. What were your first impressions of each other? 3. What was it like planning the wedding? 4. What was one memorable moment from the wedding? 5. How do you define love? 6. How do you resolve conflicts in your relationship? 7. What are three words to describe the other person? 8. What advice would you give your younger self? 9. What's the next 5/10 years look like for you two? 10. What haven't I asked yet that either of you would like to talk about?

aflevering Cancel Culture Pt. 2 - Let's try something different artwork

Cancel Culture Pt. 2 - Let's try something different

Quote from episode: "Cancel Culture is a seemingly convenient and simple solution to social problems, but the only simple thing about cancel culture is that it doesn't often work because social problems aren't simple. It's easy to yell at people on Twitter and feel like you're a champion for social justice; it's difficult to accept the reality that social problems are wildly complex. Perhaps the only thing more painfully complex than social problems are their real world solutions and the process for implementing those solutions. This doesn't mean change isn't possible, it just means that we have to focus our energy and passion in the the right ways and accept that the road ahead will be anything but smooth. When you get mud on your clothes, we all know what happens when you try to clean it right away; it spreads and leaves a stain. Some of us then see the only solution as throwing the clothes away, never to be worn again. But if we wait, if we can accept that the mud needs time to dry before it can be properly cleaned, we will be amazed at how the dry mud just falls off our clothes with a few gentle brushes, and our clothes can be worn again stain free. Let's work together to remove the stains in our society; one brush at a time." Article: https://theconversation.com/how-should-we-protest-neo-nazis-lessons-from-german-history-82645
