SMF Ep. 58: Warfield ASM with Alex Buck of Sun Valley Distillery

We are so excited to speak with Alex Buck, Managing Distiller of Sun Valley Distillery to talk about Warfield American Single Malt Whiskey (and an aged gin!). We first found out about Warfield via the excellent single cask released by @lostlanternwhiskey (see SMF Ep. 51 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYdAQueMWdo) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYdAQueMWdo)] and we're really looking forward to getting the whole brand story from the source. Warfield products are 100% organic and distilled and aged at 5840 ft. This makes Warfield the first distillery we've spoken to outside of Colorado that is located more than a mile above sea level, so we'll get to compare the effects of that altitude on whiskey production from a different part of the country, significantly farther north and a bit higher elevation. All Warfield whiskeys are Non-Chill-Filtered and No Color Added. Blind Sample Showdown Season 3 The Final

This is it, the final Showdown! 7 months, 31 Showdowns, 32 contestants, 186 samples, and t all comes down to this! Both newcomers to the show this season, Phill and Val have done amazing thus far, Who's taking home the title and the Dick Pick? Val, The Bourbon Vixen is coming into this with a total of 31 points throughout the season. Phill, The Rangers Respite has accumulated 33 points thus far. This is going to be a tight match. Instead of a randomized set of samples, these 3 are hand selected. I picked these 3 samples because they're unique, and present quite different than what they really are.
