Are you ready to make Bible study a priority? Would you love to be more familiar with the stories and passages in scripture? Do you long to connect with God and strengthen your faith?Friend, you are in the right place. This podcast will help you understand your Bible, apply verses to your life, and become more confident with the who, where, and why in scriptureHi, I’m Angie. I’m a pastor and Bible teacher. For years, even though I knew God loved me, I still dealt with defeating doubts about my value and purpose.  It wasn’t until I began deeply studying the Bible that I experienced a heart transformation that allowed me to recognize the lies of the enemy that kept me stuck in shame and defeat. Studying scripture allowed me to stand firm on God’s promises that offer peace, joy, hope, and rest. I created a Step By Step Bible study method that teaches you to find life application in one word of scripture, and I will share it with you in these episodes. If you crave a deep dive into scripture…Bible study tools you can trust…And a method designed to equip you to study with confidence…Then, pull up a seat at our table, open your heart, and prepare to hear God speak directly to you.

352 | The God Who Provides Enough

Pentecost is a feast rooted in trust. Celebrated fifty days after Firstfruits, Pentecost was Israel’s annual pause to remember that every good thing, from gathered grain to God’s guiding Word, comes from His generous hand. In this episode, Angie continues the Gather series with Acts 2:1 and explores how the Feast of Pentecost teaches us to notice God’s provision, receive His instruction, and rest in the truth that He is both the One who supplies and the One who guides.   What you’ll hear in this week’s episode * How Pentecost celebrated the completion of the harvest and reminded Israel of God’s dependable provision * Why the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai became intertwined with this feast as a moment of spiritual formation and covenant * The meaning behind the two loaves and how they symbolized fullness, gratitude, and the wide welcome of God’s care * A personal story from Angie’s college years revealing God’s right-on-time provision and how it has shaped her trust ever since * A common lie we face—God isn’t taking care of you—and the truth of Psalm 121   Resources Jewish Feasts & Festivals (Free Guide) — A simple overview of each biblical feast: what it meant then, how it points to Jesus, and why these rhythms still anchor our worship today. 351 | When the People of God Disagree

When Believers Don’t See Eye to Eye Disagreement among Christians can feel unsettling, especially when it stirs old wounds or makes us question our place in community. In this episode, Angie shares a personal story from her early ministry years and turns to Acts 15 to explore how God met the early church in a moment of deep tension. Whether you’re walking through a disagreement right now or carrying tender memories from the past, this conversation will meet you gently and remind you that God is present even in the places we’d rather avoid.   What You’ll Hear in This Episode * Angie’s personal story of navigating disagreement in her first pastorate and how the Holy Spirit steadied her * Why Acts 15 (“The Circumcision Decision”) is one of Scripture’s most honest, hope-filled pictures of conflict in Christian community * The three invitations God offers when believers disagree: discernment, formation, and reflection * Why conflict doesn’t have to be a threat to unity but can actually become a place of spiritual maturity * A fresh look at Romans 12:18 and what it really means to “live at peace… as far as it depends on you” * Gentle encouragement for anyone who feels misunderstood, weary, or wary of church community   Resources When Church Hurts: 5 Common Struggles and How Scripture Helps Us Heal This free companion resource will help you process spiritual wounds with truth and tenderness. 350 | What Needs to Be Cleared Out?

God often begins renewal with removal. The Festival of Unleavened Bread is a weeklong invitation to learn how to live as people set free. Removing every trace of yeast from their homes became a powerful picture of the quiet compromises, old patterns, and familiar fears God longs to clear out of our hearts. In this episode, Angie continues the Gather series with Leviticus 23:6 and explores how the Feast of Unleavened Bread shows us that salvation delivers us, holiness forms us, and God gently guides us to make room for the freedom He’s already given.   What you’ll hear in this week’s episode * How Unleavened Bread invited Israel to step into a new way of life * Why yeast (leaven) became a biblical picture of sin, pride, and subtle corruption that quietly spreads if left alone * A personal story about how a simple Hallmark movie scene nudged Angie to slow down, see clearly, and notice where God is still bringing freedom * A common lie we believe, You can’t get rid of all the sin in you, so why try?, and the hopeful truth of Psalm 103:8 * Practical ways to “watch for the leaven” in everyday life and invite God to gently show what needs to be cleared out   Resources Jewish Feasts & Festivals (Free Guide) — A simple overview of each biblical feast—what it meant then, how it points to Jesus, and how its rhythms still speak into our worship today. 349 | Why God Asks Us to Remember

Passover teaches us about remembering God’s faithfulness. From the earliest pages of Scripture, God repeatedly calls His people to remember. Remember His covenant. Remember His miracles. Remember the stories that shaped their faith so they could trust Him in the present. In this episode, Angie continues the Gather series with Luke 2:41 and explores how the annual rhythm of Passover invited God’s people, including Jesus Himself, to rehearse the story of deliverance again and again. What you’ll hear in this week’s episode * Why Passover is was a testimony of God’s rescue, provision, and steadfast love * How first-century Jewish families traveled to Jerusalem each year, creating a worship rhythm Jesus grew up participating in * Commentary insights about the significance of Jesus’ family observing Passover * A moving story about Angie’s son, Alex, and how God showed His presence in an unexpected moment at an airport gate * A lie we often believe about God “not showing up like He used to,” and the grounding truth found in Psalm 77:11–15 * How remembrance becomes an act of worship that strengthens our confidence in God today Resources Jewish Feasts & Festivals (Free Guide) — A simple overview of each biblical feast—what it meant then, how it points to Jesus, and how its rhythms still speak into our worship today. 348 | What It Means to Worship in Spirit and in Truth

What does it really mean to worship “in spirit and in truth”? As we step into a new year, many of us are longing for worship that feels real. Not routine. Not performance. Not something we do because the calendar says Sunday. In this episode, Angie opens the Gather podcast series with Jesus’ words from John 4:24 and unpacks how true worship begins with posture, not place. What you’ll hear in this week’s episode * Why Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman reframes worship from where we gather to how we bow our hearts * Insight from 2 Kings about counterfeit worship and why institutionalized religion still tempts us today * A warm, vulnerable story from Angie about a worship moment that marked her spiritual journey * What the Greek word proskyneō reveals about worship as affection, surrender, and awe * Commentary insights from trusted voices like Tony Evans and Craig Blomberg on worship that is biblically anchored and spiritually authentic * A common lie the enemy whispers about “following the rules” and the freeing truth of Galatians 2:16  Resources Gather (SOU Study) — A 14-week journey inside Steady On University exploring worship, community, and the sacred rhythms that steady our faith.
